A couple and their dog saved from the flames by police

The events took place shortly before 4 a.m. Alerted by witnesses, a crew of three police officers were the first to arrive on the scene, even before the firefighters. The burning apartment was on the first floor of a three-story building. Faced with the urgency of the situation, one of the police officers immediately began to evacuate the residents of the upper floors, while his two colleagues entered the burning accommodation.

Inside, thick black smoke was already filling the rooms, and the smoke detector had gone off. Despite particularly dangerous conditions, officials discovered a couple fast asleep in their bedroom, unaware of the danger. These two residents were quickly awakened and taken out of the apartment, where they risked being poisoned by the fumes.

The seriously injured dog narrowly saved by a police officer

During the intervention, one of the police officers ventured into the kitchen, where the extractor hood was on fire. The heat was unbearable and the air unbreathable. It was there that he saw a seriously injured dog lying on the ground, unable to move. The animal had severe burns and was breathing with difficulty. Determined not to abandon him, the police officer seized him and carried him outside, despite the risks involved.

The dog, in critical condition with bloody paw pads and difficulty breathing, was rushed to a veterinarian, where his owner took him immediately after the procedure. Thanks to the care provided, the animal was saved.
