At the Brest criminal court, Tuesday December 24, 2024, a 34-year-old man. He had to answer for an act committed on December 20 in the city of Ponant.
That Friday, around 6:45 p.m., the police intervened following a call from a woman. Her neighbor had just taken refuge at home, after being the victim of violence at the hands of her partner. The latter was quickly arrested.
Between his arrest and his arrival in police custody, the man had no stop insulting the police. Some are even spat on several times.
“When you don’t drink, everything goes well”
The victim told investigators that her boyfriend had hit her with kitchen utensils.
At the time of this argument, the couple was drunk. What the defendant did not deny in court. “I had drunk seven or eight strong beers in the afternoon. When you don't drink, everything goes well. Otherwise, there are a lot of shouting matches. »
Despite the prosecutor's insistence, the thirty-year-old never frankly admitted to the physical violence against his partner. “We pushed each other. I don't remember hitting him. » However, the victim had marks on his neck, as evidenced by a photo taken the same evening.
His attitude towards the police? The defendant was, once again, not very forthcoming. ” THE spitting in police vehiclewhat do they mean? Are we not in a sign of contempt, of disdain? », relaunched the president. Without getting a clear answer.
“This case is sad”
The man already has an extensive criminal record. His problems with the law accelerated three years ago. “At the time of my separation from the mother of my two children. Since then, I've been slipping with alcohol. »
The native of Quimper has already taken several courses to stop drinking. In vain. He had planned to start a new one on December 30.
“This case is sad. It’s a classic story, with alcohol consumption degenerating,” regretted the prosecutor, stressing that the defendant was appearing for the third time for acts of contempt and rebellion.
He requested twelve months in prison, plus the revocation of two months of probation.
The court was a little less severe, sentencing the 30-year-old to eight months in prison and the revocation of a two-month suspended sentence. He therefore ten months in prison to be executed.
