High level of service bus project for the Toulon Provence Méditerranée metropolis, a new step towards the public inquiry planned for the second quarter of 2025.
The Toulon Provence Méditerranée metropolis (MTPM) is carrying out a high-level bus project service (BHNS), whose route extends over 28 km in the communes of Seyne-sur-Mer, Ollioules, Toulon, Valette-du-Var and La Garde.
This project, whose cost amounts to €395 million excluding tax, was the winner in September 2021 of the 4th call for projects “collective transport on its own site and multimodal exchange hubs”, launched by the Ministry of the Ecological Transition, for exceptional State funding of €40 million excluding tax. State services in the department are therefore mobilized to support regulatory and procedural of this file, with the MTPM. Thus, following the request for declaration of public utility, the prefect of Var requested an opinion on December 19, the regional environmental authority mission (MRAe). The MRAe will deliver its opinion within two months. It will focus on the quality of the impact study presented by the project owner and on the project's consideration of the environment. This notice will be made known to the public and attached to the public inquiry file, which should be organized in the second quarter of 2025.
At the end of this public consultation phase, the prefect will rule on the public utility of the operation, so that the metropolis can begin the first work before December 31, 2025.
