Franck Carette, president of the Amicale du Vélo-Club de Saint-Aignan/Noyers, and Olivier Collin, president of Team Vallée du Cher 41, could legitimately be satisfied with the progress of a cyclo-cross event which brought together all the categories, Saturday December 21 in Saint-Aignan.

Like the main race reserved for runners in the elite category, the competition was pleasant to follow and sometimes indecisive, in relatively mild weather.

Ludovic Renard still sharp

As expected, Chartrain Vincent , winner at Romorantin a week earlier, quickly went it alone. “He was untouchable, I knew that. My only challenge was to be able to get ahead of Benjamin Masset, my club companion”declared Ludovic Renard, a still sharp forty-year-old, ranked in second place.

The runner from Saint-Pierre quickly resigned himself behind the arrow: “It’s true that I’m feeling good at the moment, and the circuit suited me. I will have to keep this good condition until the French championship which takes place in three weeks (January 12) in Pont-Château »noted the winner.

Among all the regulars who greatly contribute to the success of the discipline, Gilles Gervais, 70 years old and still dashing, once again amazed everyone in Saint-Aignan: “I just competed my 1.203e cyclo-cross, not easy given the soft terrain, but we hang on”, launches the runner from Vineuil, who was able to appreciate the support from an audience of connoisseurs in which Nicolas Vogondy had taken his place.

Finally, the event, which served as support for the departmental championships, saw the Vineuil club win four of the five titles.
