To improve access to care for people with disabilities, Health Insurance uses a tool: the disability barometer.
Since 2022, it has made it possible to identify needs in each territory and “to implement concrete actions to improve access to care”, indicates Health Insurance, in a press release, in December 2024.
A questionnaire to fill out
Through a information campaign launched until February 2025, patients are invited to respond to a questionnaire “after each health appointment or in case of difficulty obtaining treatment” on the Handifaction website.
This anonymous survey is aimed at all people with one or more disabilities, visible or invisible.
Equipment, training, accompanying person refused…
“For people with disabilities, obstacles may arise in their care pathway”, indicates Health Insurance, “such as infrastructures and equipment medical unsuitable, a lack of formation health professionals, a refusal of the presence of accompanying him during health appointments…”
These difficulties, which can become recurrent, sometimes result in the breakdown of care and therefore have consequences on the health.
