Whether at the level of the National Assembly or in , the public finances occupy minds.
The elected officials of the Metropolis of Mans voted their primitive budget 2025, this Thursday, December 19.

It will be for this year doubly constrained : on the one hand by drop in aid of l'Etatbut also by that recently announced by the Region.

“Remain an investment territory”

THE investments amount to 203 million euros. They include projects such as Chronolignesthe lengthening of the trains tramway, the renovation of the Convention center or the Health home of Coulaines

“Remain an investment territory”, this is what the president of Le Mans Métropole, Stéphane Le Foll, underlined before the vote.

The debt level will rise

The community therefore counts borrow to finance these major works: an additional 37 million euros. Raising its level debt (which was at its lowest in 2023) at almost 200 million euros.

The Metropolis first, then the municipalities

Some elected officials (6 votes) voted against this budget, wondering whether it should be postponed due to the uncertain context.

“The Metropolis must at least be there to give others a little certainty,” argued Stéphane Le Foll.

For member municipalities, including Le Mans, the budget should be voted on during the first months of 2025.
