This December 17, 2024 in the evening, Narbonne customs agents, checking on the A9 in the Spain-Narbonne direction, select a small truck registered in Slovakia. The driver is alone on board. Originally from Montenegro, he said he came from Spain and that he was carrying only one package containing marble.
When the officers noticed the presence of a false floor at the back of the truck, the driver fled on foot towards the neighboring commercial area. After a few hours of searching, the individual was found. The person concerned was brought back to the Narbonne brigade.
A search of the false floor revealed numerous heat-sealed bags of cannabis herb and 9 heat-sealed bags containing cocaine. A total of 10,540 kg of cocaine and 63,340 kg of herbal cannabis were seized.
The man was immediately placed in customs detention. It was handed over to the Anti-Narcotics Office of the Perpignan branch (OFAST) at the end of the customs procedure. Presented this Thursday, December 19, 2024 before the Narbonne judicial court, he was sentenced to 3 years of imprisonment with continued detention, banned from French territory for 10 years and a customs fine of 901,345 euros.
