THROUGHOUT CORSICA – It's time for the Christmas markets again
There are those which continue their momentum: Ajaccio, Bastia, Sarrola, Calvi, Porticcio, Sainte-Lucie, Corte or Porto-Vecchio and which will remain open this weekend, or even until the end of the month. And there are those who bet everything on the last weekend before Christmas like Zona (from 22 to 24), Calacuccia (the 22nd), Pan (the 21st), Heritage (the 21st); Ghisonaccia (20, 21 and 22) and Solenzara (20, 21 and 22). The Christmas markets are an opportunity for a family outing to buy the latest chocolates or nustral specialties while enjoying a glass of wine or hot chocolate.
SARTENE – Masterclass restitution with Anne Sila
Anne Sila is a singer, cellist, author and composer. Finalist of The Voice during the first edition, she won the All Stars edition a few years later. This Friday, December 20, the students of the Andaghjina di l'Artisti – Center for improvement in Current Singing accompanied by the singer, will give a concert with an intimate cabaret feel at the Polyphonic art center at 8:30 p.m. FREE ENTRANCE.
AJACCIO – Preview of the film The Mohican at L'Ellipse
The film by the Ajaccian director Le Mohican will be previewed this Friday, December 20 at 9 p.m. (single price of 6 euros). The opportunity to discover a thrilling modern western in the wake of a Corsican shepherd hunted by mafiosi and brilliantly played by Alexis Manenti. The screening will be in the presence of Alexis Manenti, Mara Taquin, Théo Frimigacci, Paul Garatte, Marie-Pierre Nouveau. In addition, for the 10th anniversary of Ajaccian cinema, spectators will be able to participate in the big game of L'Ellipse and try to win a year of cinema.
CALVI – Investigations and shadowing for the youngest
Saturday December 21 at 4 p.m., the Calvi-Balagne performance hall will host The Investigations of Inspector T, a family show for ages 6 and up. “Investigations, shadowing, flair and discretion”, such is Inspector T’s motto… or almost! Enchantment, pursuit and misunderstandings are the ingredients of a production freely inspired by trestle theater and farce, where madness and burlesque mix to take the whole family in its wake. An “undone” tale by Pierre Gripari. Adapted and directed by Eric Fauveau by the Ucorne company.
AJACCIO – Santa Claus motorcycle parade
Like every year, the FFMC di Corsica organizes the Santa Claus parade. It is open to all bikers.
This year, it will take place on Sunday December 22, for the benefit of the Caldaniccia refuge. The gathering is scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Ricanto parking lot. Departure scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Itinerary: T21, then T22 Noël Franchini, Bd Louis Campi, Bd Maréchal Juin, T21 cours Napoléon, D111 towards Les Sanguinaires, stop 30 minutes from the cemetery parking lot (collection from participating bikers). Return to Ajaccio via the quays, Boulevard du Roi Jérôme, tower of Place Foch. Then on to the Christmas market to continue collecting for the shelter.
MARIGNANA – The duo Ciosi-Casalonga in concert
The two Jérômes, one a guitarist, the other a singer, both creators imbued with Corsican music and elsewhere will perform on Saturday December 21 at 5:30 p.m. at the Maistrale hall. Jérôme Ciosi and Jérôme Casalonga will restore as a duo these harmonized melodies, played by the winds or sung by the strings, these epic poems, works of orality, which they come together in a desire for shared friendship. They will navigate among this music, these chants, these songs with their guitar, cetera, clarinet, saxophone or percussion as their vessel, aiming for a country of music lovers.
CONCA – The 30 years of the Bavella committee
The Bavella defense and protection committee is celebrating its 30th anniversary and invites the population to an aperitif organized on Saturday December 21 from 5:30 p.m. at the Conca village hall. On the program: history of Bavella and the committee, illustrated by a photo exhibition and the screening of press articles. Free entry and open to all.
CHISA – Serge Vacca in concert
Serge Vacca will begin the presentation tour of his latest album in Chisà, on December 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the multipurpose hall. He will be accompanied by his musician friends Jean Marie Giannelli, Marie Manfredi, Claude Mazzieri, Gilles Cianfarani and Raphaël Pierre. Free entry.
SOLLACARO – Ciné-village
As part of its off-site sessions, the Corsica.doc festival is offering, at the end of the year, a double documentary screening in Sollacaro. Saturday December 21 are presented Paci by Juliette Roudet and The house opposite by Adrien Charmot. The first, lasting 32 minutes, won the Corsica.Doc/France 3 Corse short film prize and the Best documentary prize at Arte Mare. It tells the story of director and choreographer Juliette Roudet's return to her roots, on her land after 10 years of absence and a heavy secret. In La maison d'en face, director Adrien Charmot also returns home, to this refuge, this family haven that he tells us about through this 43-minute documentary. He thus speaks of the ordinary days, of working the land, of these large tables and of bodies to be cared for. This story then becomes the story of devotion to others and the sweetness of being together. Both films are shown at 8 p.m.
BASTIA – Entertainment for the end of year celebrations
