The news falls like a gift to the residents of the south of the Saint-Brieuc agglomeration (Côtes-d’Armor) : within a few months, they will have the opportunity to consult a doctor in a new health center scheduled to open in June 2025.
13 municipalities concerned
“Following the discussions carried out by the municipalities and the steps taken with the Penthièvre and Poudouvre Hospital Center (CH2P), the project to create a health center in the southern territory of the agglomeration received validation from the regional health agency,” announces the management of Saint-Brieuc Armor Agglomération.
These discussions began in 2019 and concern 13 communes : Le Bodéo, Le Foeil, La Harmoye, Lanfains, Le Leslay, Plaine-Haute, Ploeuc-L’Hermitage, Quintin, Saint-Bihy, Saint-Brandan, Saint-Donan, Saint-Gildas, Le Vieux Bourg.
Salaried doctors
This future health center will be hosted in the premises of the CH2P in Quintin and the creation of an antenna is also planned in Ploeuc-L’Hermitage.
Thursday, December 19, 2024, the agglomeration council unanimously approved the first stage of this project which will initially result in development work in a wing of Quintin hospital.
At least two employed doctors will welcome patients there from the summer of 2025. Two others should be recruited.
