Carcassonne | The magic of Christmas takes over the medieval city until January 4

Created in 2005 by the Mayor of Gérard Larrat, the Magic of Christmas has continued to reinvent itself and develop to become an essential event of the end-of-year holiday season in the region. This year, the event once again welcomes Carcassonnais, and other visitors, for a 20th edition to be experienced until January 4.

Between unmissable attractions and new developments, the city of Carcassonne has reserved a magical program to make young and old alike dream.

An enchanted garden at Square Gambetta
In a fantastic and bright atmosphere, wander through the middle of a magical forest populated by animals, each more fantastic than the last. A free, open-air exhibition that transforms Square Gambetta into an enchanted, luminous and magical garden that will amaze young and old children alike! This year, the Designers’ Christmas Market is appearing on Square Gambetta where passionate artisans display their handmade treasures.

On Place Carnot: ice rink, Christmas market and entertainment
The emblematic ice rink returns to Place Carnot! Skate around the Neptune fountain on real ice, before strolling towards the Christmas Market chalets which will offer you many gift ideas and gourmet delights.

At the Joë Bousquet hall, shows for young audiences
Marvel as a family at wonderful stories thanks to shows and workshops
free young audiences to discover the Joë Bousquet room (39 rue Aimé Ramond)!

Halles Prosper Montagné & Place Eggenfelden: on-track karting & mini electric cars
Thrill seekers? Get behind the wheel of your kart and set off on the Eggenfelden square circuit to experience the pleasures of speed and overtake your opponents. For the little ones, go to the circuit under the Halles Prosper Montagné: at the wheel of a mini electric car, which you can choose to drive yourself, your children will set off on a track dedicated to them.

Place Général de Gaulle: high-altitude rooftop & its cable cars, curling, Christmas laser game and virtual reality space
Back, the rooftop and its gondolas will offer you an intimate setting which allows you to eat or have a drink with friends or family at the high altitude chalet: a relaxation area with a breathtaking panoramic view of the medieval city! On the ground, find the unmissable curling, the virtual reality space and the Christmas laser game which are back on the Place du Général de Gaulle.

Square André Chénier: the rides at Santa Claus Park
The traditional Christmas rides return to entertain you on Square André Chénier with nearly fifteen attractions which will offer you thrills, dreams, magic… There is something for everyone! And because great adventures whet the appetite, chalets will allow you a gourmet break between two attractions.
