Ampère teachers on strike against the “dictatorial” management of their management
On strike since Monday December 16, some of the teachers from the Ampère vocational high school (10th) gathered this Thursday, in front of the Directorate of Departmental Services of National Education (DSDEN 13), boulevard Charles-Nédelec (1st). They are protesting against the management “dictatorial“of the establishment by the principal.”This person decides everything without recourse to authorities, has a very authoritarian relationship with maintenance staff or reception agentsdetails one of the mobilized teachers. For twenty years, French lessons had been organized for allophone students, a project that the management finally abandoned, without consulting the teachers concerned. In the management team, five people are on sick leave, facing pressure from this principal.“
Thursday morning, according to the inter-union, 60% of Ampère teachers were on strike. Some are also considering occupying the establishment and organizing a blockade there, in order to alert parents of students about this “untenable situation“. In October, a first mobilization for the same reason led the rectorate to schedule monthly meetings between teachers and management. “Meetings that never happened“, deplore the teachers. When contacted, the rectorate did not respond to our requests.
