Borneo, Cuba, Tahiti… And Greenland. This year, the Gibjoncs Theater Workshop (ATG) is taking off and making its Christmas on stage a Christmas at sea. “Our show is an adventure on the seas whose trajectory follows that of the Vendée Globe says Nadine Larcher, artistic manager of the ATG. Through several stopovers, we discover other cultures, other atmospheres… There are lots of wonderful places in the world! »
Discovery of different cultures
The journey aboard the ATG sailing boat is punctuated with music and choreographed passages. “In May, our creation is always a discovery of a foreign culture,” continues Nadine Larcher. For this show, I relied on texts that I had written in previous years, scenarios already developed. I updated them and proposed them to the new group. It’s important that the actors can make them their own. »
Around thirty actors on stage… but not only
There will be around thirty, young people and adults, this Saturday evening, on the stage of the Chancellery village hall, but not only that. “For the first time, we have adopted a somewhat special system, which until now we have only used during training courses. Actors will be in the audience, who can participate if they wish. This is the reason why we are playing at the Chancellery, and not at the Jacques-Cœur theater, as usual. »
