A clear increase of 1,554 inhabitants which resonates with that noted the previous year (between 2020 and 2021), of + 1,401 people. And which changes from the figures of previous years, often in very slight increases or larger decreases.

Since 2007 when Pau was close to 85,000 inhabitants, the city has experienced a decline – with a slight slowdown from 2013 – until reaching 75,600 in 2019. That is to say a drop of 9,350 souls in 12 years. It is only since then that the vitality of the population seems to be confirmed.
The good shape of Pau boosts the population of the agglomeration which reaches 166,794 inhabitants on January 1, 2022, or some 2,000 additional souls.
