The Royal Moroccan Motor Sports Federation (FRMSA) announced Morocco’s participation in the 5th edition of the MENA Nations Cup karting, which is currently being held from December 17 to 21, 2024 at the Lusail International Circuit in Qatar.
This event, included in the calendar of the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), has become a major annual meeting for drivers in the MENA region.
This year, Morocco defends its champion title, won during the previous edition which saw the participation of 165 pilots representing 15 countries. The United Arab Emirates and Qatar finished second and third respectively.
Competitions take place in eight categories, ranging from Micro Max for young drivers aged 8 to 11 to DD2 Masters for drivers aged over 31.
The national selection is led by the experienced Nadir Kabbage and the young Nahyl El Gaoudy, who will aim to defend their titles won during the previous edition.
The preparation of the drivers has been rigorous with regular participation in national and international championships for a year.
The FRMSA aims not only to defend its title but also to offer young Moroccan pilots international experience crucial for their development.
The Moroccan delegation, which also includes technical and medical staff, flew to Qatar on Saturday December 14.
