Today, the door of the school restaurant is even open to parents. “ For the Fortnight of Families in the Spotlight, we invited them to participate in our cooking workshop », says Angélique, the after-school activity leader. Ezio and Fayane are already working on cutting the pears. “ We are used to peeling and removing the seeds, because we do that in APE (Peri-educational workshop) », smile Agapi, Elyane and Luna.

“Be interested in what they do”

Loan activates the blender under the eyes of Angélique, his mother: “ At home, we cook together. Doing it, here, at school, and with your friends, is an added pleasure. » Christine, Kendji’s grandmother, confirms: “ Being interested in what they do, giving them time, is important. With this workshop, they learn cooking, but also how not to waste. »

Because leftovers from lunch serve as the basis for recipes. “ Last time, we made caramelized apples and pears, with honey and almonds », specifies Taline.
