The next few hours will be hectic. The department of Isère is placed on yellow alert for a risk of snow and ice and violent winds during the days of Thursday December 19 and Friday December 20, 2024.

Snow, thunderstorms and showers are predicted by the weather forecast.

Snow south of Grenoble

Snowfall should be concentrated in the south of the department. During the night from Thursday to Friday, accumulations will be significant near Villard-de-Lans, in the Vercors.


Snowflakes are also announced in La Mûre, Valjouffrey and Theys.

The snow, which first falls above 2000 m, falls during the day, around 1200 to 1400 m in the afternoon, then down to 500 m the following night on the massifs of east and the Massif Central with possible bleaching above 700 to 800m.

Thunderstorms this Thursday

This Thursday, December 19, locally violent thunderstorms hit the west of the department. This will be the case in Saint-Marcellin, Roussillon and Villard-de-Lans.

Showers are also expected before the return of the sun expected for Friday.

Gusts at 70 km/h

In the north of Isère, wind gusts of up to 70 km/h are feared this Thursday. The squalls are likely to move south, particularly to Grenoble and La Mûre.
