In front of around thirty people, Wednesday evening, Céline Lefêvre-Mille, the director, presented the opening of the 49th and final exhibition of the Cadeau-Rive gauche. This exhibition “Reliefs-Rebuts à table”, by Carole Lemière-Guillemin, showcases food waste which becomes works of art. “For my exit from residency which lasted eight months, I chose the world of gastronomy and gastronomes and asked chefs to collect kitchen scraps in order to offer them art to decorate their rooms,” explains the artist and culinary designer. Thus, paintings, illuminated posters and centerpieces come together in the immersive cabinet.

Made from cuttlefish bones, embroidered shells for the paintings, onion, shallot and garlic peels for the appliques and oyster shells, crustaceans or vegetables (banne skins, tops of carrots) for the table centers, all these works exude a beautiful poetry that Carole Lemière-Guillemin highlights through the texts which explain her approach.
