They thus committed to further consolidate their relations in the economic and commercial fields to raise them to the level of a mutually beneficial multi-sector partnership, in particular by strengthening exchanges between private operators of the two countries and the legal framework governing economic relations. bilateral.
In this regard, the two ministers agreed to hold the second meeting of the Joint Committee on Trade and Investment during the first quarter of 2025.
Bourita and Van Klaveren Stork also insisted on the importance of combining efforts to face new challenges linked to the preservation of the environment, expressing the firm desire of the two countries to consolidate cooperation in the field of management. water, agriculture, renewable energies and green hydrogen.
Furthermore, the Chilean minister praised the large-scale reforms undertaken over the last two decades under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, as well as the continued efforts in favor of political, economic and social development.
For his part, Bourita praised the efforts made by Chile in terms of ocean protection, expressing Morocco’s support for Chile’s aspirations to host the Secretariat of the Agreement on the Conservation and Sustainable Use of Marine Biodiversity beyond national jurisdictions in the city of Valparaiso.
Regarding food security in the world, the two officials expressed their support for all initiatives aimed at tackling food insecurity, recalling, in this sense, the role that Morocco can play in this area. , as a fertilizer producing country and Chile as a globally recognized supplier of food products.
Aware of the challenges facing their two respective regions, Bourita and Van Klaveren Stork also had discussions relating to cooperation in the field of security and the fight against organized and transnational crime, as well as on the sharing of experiences in the field of immigration and the fight against human trafficking.
Convinced of the determining and united role of the populations of the two countries in economic, social and cultural interaction, the two officials agreed to strengthen cooperation in the fields of education, training, research and sustainable development, emphasizing the need to strengthen cooperation in the field of culture and books, through the organization of events aimed at promoting the cultural and tourist heritage of the two countries.
The two countries also reaffirmed their commitment to promoting exchanges between university, academic and scientific research institutions, with a view to facilitating the exchange of teachers, researchers and students.
