Of the French and German farmers are currently present at the level of the European Parliament in Strasbourg to put pressure on the negotiations surrounding the planned agreement with Mercosur.
French farmers, led by the Rural coordination of Bas-Rhin (CR 67)plan to stay there until 3 p.m. this Thursday.
Denounce the agreement with Mercosur
“Mercosur, it’s the straw that breaks the camel’s back“, explains Paul Fritsch, president of CR 67.
“Importing products that do not have the same standards as ours, this has been practiced for a long time“, he notes with bitterness, while explaining that the agricultural world now refuses “to be the adjustment variable of these negotiations« .
Meetings planned with MPs
During their mobilization, the farmers plan to meet some MEPs.
“We have contact with Manon Aubry (LFI), Sarah Knafo (Reconquest), Céline Imart (LR) or RN MEPs“, explains M. Fritsch.
“It is always the same people who refuse to meet us, namely the macronists“, adds the latter.
