Battle at the summit on Christmas Eve. PSG, still undefeated this season in Ligue 1, continued its momentum by winning against Monaco (4-2), Wednesday December 18, at the Stade Louis-II, as part of the 16th day of the championship. If the Parisians made a very good start to the match, with Désiré Doué once again decisive to open the scoring (24th), the Monegasques, harmless in the first period, then made the Parisians tremble. First on a penalty converted by Eliesse Ben Seghir (53rd), then with the goal of Breel Embolo (60th), his fourth with AS Monaco this season, in all competitions.
However, the domination of the Rock players did not last more than ten minutes. The Monegasques were caught by a goal from Ousmane Dembélé (64th) before conceding another hard blow: a victorious header from a corner by Gonçalo Ramos (83rd, 3-2) just three minutes after entering the pitch. In great form, Ousmane Dembélé finally scored a double in the final moments (90th+7).
The meeting was also marked by the spectacular injury, in the first period (17th), of Gianluigi Donnarumma, injured in the face following a particularly violent collision with the ASM full-back, Wilfried Singo. The latter, although already warned a few minutes earlier, escaped expulsion while the Parisian goalkeeper was evacuated, his right cheek lacerated, and replaced by Matvey Safonov.
This new victory allows the Parisian leaders to consolidate their lead in the standings with ten points ahead of their evening opponent and the same over OM, their runner-up who has a match in hand. Paris puts an end to a series of disappointments at Louis-II (three defeats and a draw in Ligue 1). Conversely, Monaco still doubts, with only one victory in the last six matches (in Ligue 1 and the Champions League).
