Many know the carillon of the church of La Platé in Castres and its official carillonneur, Jean-Pierre Carme, who rings “Nadalet” every year to announce Christmas.
But do we know that this same carillonneur also installed a carillon in the church of Saint-Pierre-de-Trivisy?
This new set of 11 bells works automatically and has the same program as that of Castres.
Since this Tuesday, December 17, the Nadalet replaces the evening Angelus and rings at 7 p.m.: large flight of 4 bells, followed by the song “Come Divine Messiah” then ringing of the big bell which announces the number of days that separate us from Christmas .
Finally, on December 24, Christmas carols will be played, on Christmas Eve and ending with the Nadalet.
This carillon is the fourth in the department (with Castres, ND de la Drêche and Gaulène).
The local association “Petit Haricot”, recognized as being of general interest, is now working for its expansion.
For this, a new subscription has just been launched with the objective of acquiring eight new bells (information at the Town Hall, at 06.49.93.18.69, and 890 avenue des Monts de Lacaune).
With this subscription, the carillon will have two chromatic octaves, and a manual keyboard for concerts, and, then, it can be approved by the World Carillon Federation.
