An exemplary and free motorhome area surrounded by nature in Ville-sur-Yron, east of Metz

In the Lorraine countryside, in the middle of the fields, a brand new motorhome area has been available to motorhome owners since the summer of 2024. The town of Ville-sur-Yron (Meurthe-et-Moselle) welcomes you to the better conditions. Three pitches on draining paving stones are accessible free of charge, with bonus services. Another example to follow.

To the north of the Lorraine regional natural park, between Metz and Verdun, the small town of Ville-sur-Yron has become a popular stopover for campervans. Since August 2024 and the opening of the service area, people passing through are more likely to stop in this ecovillage. Three pitches covered with draining paving stones are available free of charge. It also offers all services (water, drainage and electricity), without financial compensation. Which has become rather rare in France.

To develop tourism

This site is part of the new developments carried out to develop tourism and hiking in the town. A project led by the Rural Land Association (AFR) and 100% financed by Europe thanks to the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD). €252,000 was needed for all the work, which also included shelters for hikers and a fitness trail.

In the countryside

A hiking trail nearby

From this exemplary reception area, users can join the 4 Horizons hiking trail, but also a mountain bike circuit. It is also the starting point for a discovery trail dedicated to history, agriculture and nature. Although the village does not have any food shops, it should soon benefit from a community bar.
