They nibbled and drank to the health of a great cause: offering a sweeter and warmer Christmas than usual to people in need. And people from Nice and the Riviera did it by turning at a height of 50 meters. Solidarity and delicious sensations. These were the basic ingredients of the Apéroue, this offbeat aperitif organized last night by Secours populaire in partnership with the City of Nice, the Christmas Village Ferris wheel, and the Jeanne and Paul Augier high school.
Motivated young people
Croque-monsieur with blue cheese and pears in wine, gravlax carrot brioche and sour cream, panna cotta with sage and parmesan, gnocchi with snail… That’s around ten miniatures expertly prepared by the 25 students in a training class level. In other words, by Christophe Moreau, deputy director of the Arénas high school, “a class of high school graduates who retrain for a year in the hotel industry before pursuing a BTS”. Young people motivated by this challenge: “They have been preparing everything since Monday after a first phase of conceptualization, a second of testing, a third of realization.” We also had to think about logistics: renting a truck, warming cabinets… They did everything until the end, right down to setting up the platters covered in pink, wearing their white hat or a Santa hat. . “They prepared for 300 people, but we only had 80 reservations. We accept last minutes.” The price of this aperitif, which amounted to 35 euros, has also fallen to 25 euros.
Thirty minutes of rides and flavors
On board some of the 36 nacelles, we installed boxes surrounded by gift paper, simulating cubic tables, hung a plastic container to house the drinks: Comté beer, some Provence wines, still water and water. sparkling, all offered by the drinks distributor Bonifassi. The guests, who rode in shifts, enjoyed exquisite appetizers and around thirty minutes of riding the ride. The taste buds vibrated in resonance with the heart, like that of 3 friends from Nice, Simone, Pauline and Eliane: “It’s for a great cause and it’s nice.” Same feeling with Corinne and Joëlle who came to celebrate their birthday with Lisa: “An excellent idea, generous, despite a slight apprehension, but we take it upon ourselves.”
The profits from this rotating cocktail in the air will be entirely donated to Secours populaire to finance solidarity projects to help children and families in need have a wonderful end-of-year celebration.
