A little over sixty people mobilized this Tuesday evening, December 17, in Mulhouse, in front of the Square du Général-de-Gaulle, at the call of the Palestine 68 Collective.
The participants paid tribute to the Palestinians of Gaza and the occupied territories, wishing to “break the wall of silence”, the leitmotif of the gathering.
Dozens of candles formed the message “Free Palestine”, while people condemned the lack of respect for international law, particularly with regard to the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and that France intends not to implement it in the name of incomprehensible impunity.
The demonstrators fully expect not to give up in 2025, when the Mulhouse collective met for the fiftieth time in a year.
The fate of Georges Ibrahim Abdallah was discussed. The oldest French political prisoner, he is on the verge of being released, although caution must be exercised after the multiple disillusionments his defenders have faced.
Finally, activists from the BDS movement were also present on this occasion.
