Boudrika remains detained in Germany, where he was arrested at Hamburg airport after arriving from Dubai. This arrest follows an international arrest warrant issued against him.
The Hamburg public prosecutor’s office indicated that the decision concerning the extradition of Boudrika had not yet been taken, and that it was currently impossible to predict the date of this decision, according to our colleagues at Al Yaoum24. The former Raja president was in Germany for talks with Joseph Zinnbauer, the team’s coach, to renew his contract.
Boudrika is suspected of close ties with a senior executive of a large Casablanca banking institution who allegedly granted him significant loans for his businesses, without sufficient guarantees.
An internal bank commission had been set up to carry out an in-depth investigation into the loan files managed by this executive. Initial investigations suggest that the latter also served as Boudrika’s personal financial advisor, raising questions of conflict of interest.
Documents submitted for loan applications, including company financial statements and tax certificates, are subject to careful verification. Investigators are particularly interested in the legitimacy of these documents and the possibility that Boudrika abused his connections to obtain overvalued financing.
Furthermore, several commercial and real estate complaints had been filed against Boudrika, including a legal case involving his brother, currently being judged by the criminal chamber of the Casablanca Court of Appeal.
