A tragedy took place this Tuesday evening in Aix-en-Provence (Bouches-du-Rhône), where a 20-year-old man lost his life in a shooting occurred in the Bellevue residence. According to information collected by France Bleu Provence, four individuals suspected of being involved in this homicide fled after the events.
A transaction that turns into drama in Aix-en-Provence
The incident took place around 11:15 p.m. The victim was accompanied by two other young men, aged 19 and 22, and all three had just arrived at the scene in an Opel Corsa. According to the Aix-en-Provence public prosecutor’s office, the trio met their attackers in the context of a drug transaction. Shortly after their arrival, four suspects arrived in a Renault Clio.
The situation quickly degenerated: the victim left the car and was shot twice at point blank range in the back of the head. His two companions fledbut were found shortly after by law enforcement. The attackers left the scene, taking the Opel Corsa and their own vehicle.

Alerted by local residents, emergency services intervened quickly to try to resuscitate the seriously injured young man. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:44 p.m.
Investigators carried out a careful inventory of the elements on site. Two 9 mm caliber cartridge cases were foundconfirming the use of a handgun. Investigations are being carried out by the Organized and Specialized Crime Division (DCOS).
History of drugs
The victim and his two friends were all known to the police for drug-related cases. This shooting takes place in a context of violence often associated with illicit trafficking which plagues the region.
