SENEGAL-WORLD-CONFLICT / The OIC welcomes the new UN resolution reaffirming the right to self-determination of the Palestinians – Senegalese Press Agency

Dakar, Dec 18 (APS) – The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Wednesday welcomed the “massive adoption” by the United Nations General Assembly of a resolution reaffirming the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination.

In a press release made public the same day in Riyadh, the OIC considers that this vote constitutes “an international consensus on the rejection of the illegal Israeli colonization of the Palestinian territories”.

She thus reiterated her call to all countries that have not yet recognized the State of Palestine to do so and to support its full membership in the United Nations.

The OIC at the same time calls on these countries to take the necessary measures to implement the General Assembly resolution on the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice on the illegality of the Israeli occupation and the need for put an end to it.

The vote on this new resolution is yet another action by the United Nations General Assembly aimed at recognizing the international sovereignty of Palestine, a large part of which is under Israeli occupation.

In the Palestinian territories, the situation deteriorated significantly after the army of the State of Israel launched a devastating response following an attack on its soil by the Palestinian Islamic resistance movement. , Hamas.
