Yet, Olivier Frapolli called on his players to be careful and did not at all relax his demands in the preparation of this match which could seem like a formality, as indicated in his speech at a press conference shared by Ouest-France.

Indeed, this coach and this Laval club have both already been eliminated by a team of a similar level, Orvault (R1), when entering the cup competition in 2022. A match which had been described as the one of the worst underperformances in the club’s history, and an affront that the Tango technician would like to avoid at this stage.
“The opposing team is undefeated this season, even if they have games in hand. It’s a playful team. In the round of 32, there is never a single match. We will have to be very serious and play at our best level to pass. In everything we do before, in training, you have to prepare well for the match. This is the first thing to do. We cannot ask things from the group during the talk if we have done the opposite during the week. We prepared the match like a championship match in the content of our sessions. We made video. Nothing has changed and we had exactly the same schedule as the previous week against Amiens. »
