Metz. Do you know what these colorful cubes placed on the Esplanade are?

Since the end of summer, the Esplanade has been decorated with four colorful cubes placed at the entrance to the garden in downtown Metz. Made from Plexiglas®, these structures can be used as benches to contemplate the place, but their real message is only visible from above! Indeed, as they gain height, these cubes, which are in fact large letters, form the word “Metz”.

They have been installed strategically, to offer a special view during the Montgolfiades in September and for those who take the City Skyliner, the 360° tower installed at Place de la République during the Christmas markets. So it’s a great time to enjoy the view.

As part of a larger artistic project

Installed this summer, these cubes are part of a project to enhance the city center, which includes, for example, the silver sky of Fournirue, the artistic fresco on the ground on Rue desAllemands, as well as a trail of photos and drawings. A structure representing Graoully is also installed at Place des Paraiges.
