A double anniversary like this is worth celebrating. Sixty years, for the Encagnane district, 35 years, for the local Mission of Pays d’Aix. It was necessary to have a gala evening, this Wednesday, December 18 from 6 p.m., at the Pasino d’Aix, to mark the occasion.

On the program, several surprises and various activities with the presentation of an eloquence competition in the presence of Thomas Szachnik (winner of the 2024 edition), breakdancing demonstrations by the CIACU (Centre culturelle de la Pinette), a private concert by Faf Larage and Adrien Susini… On the decks, DjDjel, from the Fonky Family, will also be one of the guest stars.

An auction

But if there is a birthday, the gifts will be made to the Aix-Pertuis intercommunal hospital center (Chiap). Thanks to numerous partners, City of Aix-en-Provence, Local Mission, sub-prefecture of Aix, network of Ambassadors of Provence, Rotary club Aix-Sextius, Pasino Grand, regional council of the Order of Chartered Accountants , Aix-en-Provence bar, Region, Departmental Council but also in support of many local businesses, a charity auction will be organized during the evening. Its profits will be donated to Chiap, to finance a project that is close to the hearts of the teams: the greening of an outdoor space, a garden that could benefit children hospitalized in the pediatrics-neonatology-child surgery department.

Bringing nature to the hospital

It is a service which welcomes thousands of children each year, aimed at the Aix population but more widely towards the surrounding areas, with patients who can also come from neighboring departments. It is a service which is primarily designed to provide care, but it is also a placeexplains Doctor Clément Ammouche, head of the pediatric department. And it is a place which aims to be as welcoming, as warm and as caring as possible, so that the child, and his parents, can find themselves in an environment which allows them not to be centered only on the disease. It seemed important to us to open the service to the outside, and to have a space that allows the child not only to stay within the four walls of his room..”
