Ce Monday December 16, 2024four associations were given property frome sealed by the court in Lille (North) by public prosecutor Carole Etienne, and her teams. The fruit of long-term work so that the donations serve the best the beneficiaries.

“Judicial services are not above ground”

Since 2020, the Lille court has worked alongside charitable associations. An agreed partnership, which allows four structures to benefit from goods from seals. Carole Etienne presents: “We did a pre-sorting, with each of the associations, on seized objects, definitively confiscated. Rather than destroying them, we give them away. This is all the more important during this end-of-year period. And this shows that the judicial services are not above ground.”

Games, consoles, tools, clothing, bikes or scooters, travel bags, watches or even perfumes appeared on different tables in one of the courtrooms this Monday. “There is only a part of the donations,” presented the prosecutor. In fact, some 320 objects – approximately double that of last year – were donated to the Restos du Cœur, the Compagnons builders, the Adepape du and the Secours Populaire, which was not represented on site.

Tedious work, for the pleasure of those accompanied

It was tedious work for the teams responsible for the seals which was carried out for weeks. “We define what is valuable. It goes to the Domaine or to AGRASC. Otherwise, we see to give it, to which association it could correspond,” explains Corinne Crosy, administrative assistant in charge of seals. “These are lovely gifts, not sure we can distribute them between now and Christmas,” smiles a representative of Restos du Cœur. The association is in fact on a roll this holiday season, with many imperatives. But he and his partner are delighted to be able to offer beneficiaries beautiful gifts.

Henri Denecker, head of the food bank for Adepape du Nord (which supports the wards of the State, already imagines what these donations will be used for. “The young people we support need many things, like clothes, shoes… Our president sends requests to the court, which gives when it can,” he relates. Team work so that the donations are used for the beneficiaries. A great initiative, renewed every year, sometimes even twice. ‘year.
