One candidate to bring them all together? This Tuesday, December 17, the Aubagnaise left elected its head of list as part of the left-wing citizen movement, launched a year and a half ago, called the Spring of the Aubagnais. Around fifty activists gathered at the Circle of Harmony for an election without suspense since only one candidate was presented in the person of Jean-Pierre Squillari, 72 years old, former head of a relief center.
The designation of a spokesperson group of 13 members as well as the head of the list was therefore a formality, to the extent that all those who presented themselves were elected. Not without debates on the merits. Before voting, the members of Printemps first discussed the presence – or in this case the absence – of political parties.
The integration of political parties in question
Because of the six left-wing forces, only two have today confirmed their participation in the movement: the Ecologists and Génération.s. Exit therefore the Socialist Party (PS), Place publique (PP), the French Communist Party (PCF) and La France insoumise (LFI), which participate in meetings with the movement but have not yet decided to join the ship.
Insoumise France, in fact, had its request read ahead of the vote “not to appoint a head of the list this December 17 but rather a first spokesperson so as not to close things too much vis-à-vis the parties“. A wish formulated by LFI executives after a meeting of city groups in the presence of Manuel Bompard, party coordinator.
