Around twenty waitresses and waiters engaged in a course folle in the streets of downtown Metz (Moselle), Tuesday December 17, 2024.
Tray in hand, tied by the arm in their pair, the candidates had the objective of crossing the finish line first while keeping the greatest number of glasses intact.

In Metz, a race with a precarious balance
At 3 p.m., leaving Place Saint-Louis, the waitresses and waiters set off in the direction of their first stop : Maison Magira, rue de la Tête d’Or. There was a table with as many cups as pairs.
With now a cup and a glass balancedon the plateau, you had to take rue de Ladoucette to get a second drink. Along the way, candidates had to be observant to spot the “Christmas in Metz” sign and take a photo of themselves with it.
“We’re not the best, but we give our all every time”
With Christmas hats on their heads, the teams cross the finish line at Place d’Armes after around ten minutes of racing. Of the precious cargo, there’s not much left.
The trays took on water, but the candidates have a smile. “We’re not the best, but we give our all every time,” laughs Anthony, from the La Popote restaurant, catching his breath.
“We had a lot of fun, that’s the main thing,” jokes Memet, representative of the Maiden’s Tower, to Woippy. Régis, his partner, adds: “We gave 200%. The objective was to give our all, so we succeeded. »
The first three duos respectively won 250 € , 200 €et 150 €.
