Great adventure.
The Mission Locale du Lot continues to offer unique opportunities to young people aged 16 to 25. So in November, 6 of them flew to Budapest to complete professional internships in various sectors. This adventure, organized as part of the Erasmus+ system, allowed participants to discover a new country, acquire valuable skills and strengthen their employability.
For three weeks, the young people integrated Hungarian professional structures. Maël worked at the Kölcsei bilingual high school, where he organized theater workshops and collaborated on a video project around a flash mob. Clément and Manon joined the Journal Francophone de Budapest, discovering the communication professions. Yohan completed his internship at the French Librairie, where he not only developed his skills, but also received a job offer. As for Amélia, her time at Novotel allowed her to perfect her English and have her first experience abroad. And finally Léo joined the association Les petits Mousquetaires to work in entertainment with children.
The participants highlighted the benefits of this adventure:
Maël: “I learned to set my limits, to organize and lead projects, and above all to let go of sharing accommodation. I would like to go back to an English-speaking country. »
Clément: “Stepping out of my comfort zone was revealing. I discovered another side of my life. »
Yohan: “This experience helped me to better adapt to a new environment, to overcome the language barrier and to strengthen my bonds with the other participants. »
Amélia: “It was my first time abroad. I have gained independence and now want to have my own studio. »
The young people return with memorable memories, such as the friendship that Maël established with a Hungarian student. For Clément, this cultural immersion rekindled his attachment to his French roots, an attachment he particularly felt while listening to the iconic music Sacré Bordel by Bigflo and Oli.
In addition to professional learning, this experience was a fantastic lever to develop their autonomy, discover new horizons and think about their future projects. “I recommend this type of experience to other young people because it allows them to gain confidence and better define their professional projects,” says Maël.
Through this initiative, the Mission Locale du Lot reaffirms its commitment to supporting young people in their professional integration while raising their awareness of the opportunities offered by Europe. This adventure in Budapest proves once again that European mobility is a major asset for broadening the perspectives of young people.
