Accident in Saint-Chaptes in Gard: a man seriously injured after a collision with a wild boar and a tree
THE Gard firefighters intervened this afternoon in Saint-Chaptes for a spectacular accident. A car has hit a wild boar before ending its course against a tree.
A major emergency response system was deployed. The Uzès and Saint-Géniès-de-Malgoirès barracks mobilized an ambulance, a medical vehicle, an extrication machine and a command vehicle.
The firefighters of SDIS 30 provided assistance to a 75-year-old man in a state of absolute emergency. After a delicate extrication, he was treated on site by a medical team before being transported to Nîmes University Hospital.
The national gendarmerie, municipal authorities and the roads department of the Gardont department secured the scene. The accident caused significant disruption in this sector of Gard.
