Ce mardi December 10, 2024the Manche Assize Court delivered its verdict on a incest affair involving a 83 year old man. He was recognized guilty of sexual assault on his two granddaughtersnow aged 26 and 28 years old.

At the bar, he disputes the facts

The facts took place in the South Channelat a time when both victims were under 15 years old. Our colleagues from West indicate that “the eldest, with a disability, had suffered penile and digital penetration and caresses on the chest and genitals between the ages of 12 and 14”. Attached to her grandmother, the young girl did not dare to denounce the actions of his grandfather.

Even though he had confessed to the expert psychiatrist, theaccused disputed the facts in court. Which, when rendering its judgment, did not fail to take into account the attempted corruption undertaken by the accused against the expert (he offered him gifts).

The court also considered the accused's “non-recognition of the facts” and his “lack of empathy towards his victims”. The latter's “constant story” as well as their lack of consent were retained by the Assize Court ahead of its verdict.

Suspended prison sentence

Five years suspended prison sentence were requested against the accused. It will also be the subject of a registration in the automated judicial file of perpetrators of sexual or violent offenses.

Furthermore, “his lack of criminal record, risk of reoffending, his age and the reduction in his physical and psychological faculties were taken into account to assess the sentence”.
