As part of the 2024 edition of the Telethon, more than 650 events took place in Gard. Despite a drop in attendance, donations lived up to expectations, and even significantly exceeded them. These acts of generosity mark a new milestone for the lives of patients.
The Telethon in Gard took place under the sun and the determination of the volunteers. Over the course of an entire weekend, hundreds of volunteers mobilized to make this annual event a real success.
« Figures beyond estimates »
This year, the Gard Telethon delegation managed to raise more than 233,214 euros, the latest figure as of November 30, via telematics. A very good figure, exceeding the previous year's record by 15,000 euros.
“These figures are beyond our expectations. They exceeded all our estimates,” exclaims enthusiastically Pascale Loison, coordinator of the Telethon in Gard. In certain municipalities, the figures compared to last year have even doubled, such as in Moulézan.
“This success is the result of unfailing investment by our volunteers, as well as key players in the Gard region. », adds Pascale Loison.
A general mobilization
From Camargue traditions, to firefighters and even starred chefs, activities have multiplied around the major centers of the territory.
With hundreds of festivities, the Telethon has established itself over time and will still offer events until next weekend.

“This year, it is the sun of victory that triumphs against Duchenne muscular dystrophy,” concludes Pascale Loison.
