It has been completely closed to traffic since October 10, 2024 and no one is yet able to say when rue de Fourqueux in Saint-Germain-en-Laye (Yvelines) will reopen. Let us recall the facts: it was following the heavy rains following Storm Kirk that large cracks and subsidence of the roadway appeared to the right of a construction site in progress, at 13, rue de Fourqueux. Since this major axis of the commune remains inaccessible to vehicles.
At the initiative of the City, a new meeting took place on November 25 with the various stakeholders.
New design office
“The developer has activated his two insurance policies: all-risk construction insurance and civil liability,” recalls Élisabeth Guyard, deputy mayor in charge of roads, networks and mobility. During this meeting, we learned that these two insurers have designated expertseach on their own, who decided to appoint a new design office, completely independent of the project management team supporting the developer. »
“We insisted that this new design office and the department's design office work together to advance solutions for reinforcing the track. Because the objective, obviously, is the reopening of rue de Fourqueux. »
City and departmental council hand in hand
Indeed, since the disturbances on the street were noted, the services of the City and the departmental council have been working together to move this matter forward as quickly as possible. The Center for Studies and Expertise on Risks, Environment, Mobility and Development (Cerema), which intervened on the issue of the cracks which led to the closure of the A13 in April, was called upon on site.
Towards a reopening of the uphill route?
A new meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, December 18, 2024. The City is waiting for the two design offices to make propositions to allow “at a minimum, the reopening of the ascending road from rue de Fourqueux towards the forest”, hopes Élisabeth Guyard.
“These are questions of insurance, expertise and reports. Afterwards, the two design offices will have to compare their analyses. And the objective is still the safety of users. »
Thus, until this meeting on December 18, departmental road 98 still remains prohibited to traffic in the two senses between the crossroads of 4 paths and rue de la Maison-Verte. Only local residents are authorized to use it, but only up to the intersection with rue du Docteur-Grandhomme.
The construction site remains at a standstill
As for the construction site located at 13 rue de Fourqueux, launched by the developer L&P Immobilier and called Domaine des Lys, it remains at a standstill. Almost two years after its launch, it is still a gaping hole which is visible on the site, below the main road, in place of the project providing for the construction of 62 housing units and a nursery.
