Visitors from all over the world are expected from Thursday, December 5, for the 25th edition of the Festival of Lights in . Which should delight the city's hotels.

If the Festival of Lights highlights the city of Lyon, the four days of the event are also a favorable period for hotels in the metropolis. In 2023, more than 2 million spectators strolled through the streets of Lyon, including visitors from all over the world. This year again, OnlyLyon Tourisme et Congrès is preparing to welcome international visitors, and in particular Spaniards, Italians and Swiss.

Forty-eight hours before the start of the Festival of Lights, Thursday December 5, the Hotel Observatory of the and the Lyon Metropolis* noted an average hotel occupancy rate of 69% in the Lyon metropolis. A peak of 80% occupancy was even recorded for the night from Saturday to Sunday. The rate is 76% for the first evening of the Festival of Lights. “Last minute bookings expected to reach an overall rate of 78%, equivalent to that of 2023“, specifies the observatory.

Regarding the guided tours offered by the Tourist Office guides, they “are experiencing great enthusiasm, with almost all of the slots already reserved“, indicates Only Lyon.
