This Tuesday, December 3, 2024, shortly before 8 p.m., a vehicle took the RN12 towards Brest in the wrong direction from Côtes-d'Armor. Chased by the Costa Rican gendarmes, the vehicle traveled several kilometers in the wrong direction, without causing an accident. It was upon arriving in Finistère, between Plouégat-Moysan and Plouigneau, that the car hit a van traveling in the right direction, around 8:25 p.m. In the impact, the van rolled several times before stopping . The Saint-Thégonnec motorized platoon (PMO) was called to the scene.
Two people taken to hospital
The vehicle continued its journey before being stopped a little further away by the Diro services. Despite the spectacular side of the accident, no injuries were reported. The two drivers of the damaged vehicles, alone on board, were transported to the Pays de Morlaix hospital center for control examinations. The vehicles and debris linked to the accident were then cleared by Diro services and tow truck repairers. Traffic on the RN12 returned to normal around 10 p.m.
