She has, to her credit, numerous documentaries and collaborations on programs for Arte and Télévisions, among others. The strength and beauty of “44 Days” earned it the L’Île d’or prize at the Island Film Festival in Groix this summer. It highlights the story of the civic momentum and anger of the Guadeloupean people in 2009, two months of demonstrations and a general strike for more dignity to live. The negotiations between the UKP collective and the public authorities also have recent echoes in and New Caledonia.

Exchange with the public

“For a long time, I observed Guadeloupe, my parents’ island, from afar,” confides the director. A connection was made when I watched the images filmed during the general strike in 2009, 44 days of mobilization that this film restores as I perceived it. A meeting with the public will take place after the screening.
