The prefect of Hérault has decided to administratively close an establishment located on avenue Jean Jaurès in Florensac. This measure, lasting 15 dayswas taken following public disturbances reported in and around the bar.


???? What is a disturbance of public order?

A disturbance of public order means a disturbance which threatens peace, security, health or public morality, creating a risk for the normal functioning of society. This is a legal concept often used to justify interventions or sanctions. This includes:

– Acts of violence or vandalism
– Unauthorized demonstrations that block traffic or create overflows
– Excessive noise pollution
– Any action that undermines security, health or public morality

Other sanctions decided by the prefect

In two grocery stores and a hookah bar recently closed by prefectural decision following alleged offenses noted by the police. The Ali la Tour grocery store, located rue du Grau, in the Saint-Martin district, is closed for 45 days, with the possibility for the manager to appeal within 15 days. Another grocery store in the same neighborhood, near Avenue de Palavas, must close for 21 days. Finally, a hookah bar in the Tournezy district is also closed for 21 days.

> Metropolitan has decided not to mention the names of establishments which are subject to administrative closure for less than one month.
