If, until now, only the Japanese manufacturer Toyota could boast of having obtained the French Origin Guarantee label for the production of its Yaris, three new vehicles now enrich the catalog of certified products. Renault has indeed just obtained the macaroon “OFG” for three of its latest 100% electric new products: Renault 5 E-Tech Electric, Renault Scénic E-Tech Electric et Renault 4 E-Tech Electric. Mainly manufactured in the North, these models demonstrate that the transition to electric mobility is not incompatible with preservation of our industrial flagships.
Renault does almost as well as Toyota
Recently exhibited at the Élysée Palace as part of The Great Exhibition of Made in France, the Renault 5 E-Tech Electric embodies the ambition of the diamond brand to democratize electric vehicles in Europe. Manufactured in the Douai factory and equipped with an engine designed in Cléon, the city car displays a rate of value produced in France of 69%which allowed it to receive the Origine France Garantie certification. Emblematic of Renault's new industrial strategy, this model, whose commercial launch has been spectacular, contributes to the growth of electric mobility at the heart of the national ecosystem.
For its part, the news Renault 4 E-Tech Electric perpetuates the spirit of this legendary model while modernizing it for a 100% electric era. Star of the 2024 Paris World Cup, it is produced at the Maubeuge Manufacture, one of the three sites of the Ampere ElectriCity Cluster. Its share of added value produced in France reaches 69%.
Finally, the Renault Scénic E-Tech Electric is produced on the AmpR Medium platform in Douai, as part of the Ampère entity. She gets the best rate of added value produced in France, at 74%thus getting closer to the score achieved by the Japanese brand, Toyota.
Subject to continued compliance with the Origine France Garantie labeling criteria, the labeling of these models is valid until April 9, 2028.
Toyota certified for the Yaris Cross Hybrid
Pioneer in the use of this certification for the automotive sector, Toyota led the way in 2012 with the Yaris model and repeated in 2021 with the hybrid and cross version. Produced in Onnaing, near Valenciennes, this vehicle, number 1 in sales for the manufacturer in France, reached 75% production on this site. It demonstrates the Japanese brand's lasting commitment to local manufacturing.
