The events took place on the evening of July 29 to 30, 2023 in Blavignaca village of just over 250 inhabitants in the far north of the Lozere. Four firefightersone of whom was barely an adult, had been targeted by shots while they came to the aid of a man who had called them for a tachycardia attack…

The weapon used, a pistol, was non-lethal. But the three women and the man who came to rescue the shooter did not know that. Fortunately, no firefighters were injured, “although the incident caused a significant psychological shock among them,” explains the Lozère Departmental Fire and Rescue Service (Sdis 48).

Shooter sentenced to prison a year ago

The affair caused a stir and gave rise to a trial. She finds a rather happy sequel today with a nice gesture volunteer firefighters attacked.

They decided to give the money obtained in court and made a check to the Œuvre des Pupilles de sapeurs-pompiersindicated Sdis 48 on Wednesday November 27, 2024. The amount, however, was not revealed.

The hearing was scheduled very shortly after the events, on August 2, 2023. But was ultimately postponed to November 9. And the result fell on November 28, a year ago. Lshooter, aged 27 and prosecuted for, in particular, intentional injury, was sentenced to four years in prison, two of which were suspended.

But also to the ban on possessing or carrying a weapon for five years. His hunting license was withdrawn for the same period. And he is also ineligible for five years.
