Bourny murder in Laval: the investigation entrusted to an investigating judge

A dead man killed by a stab, a man injured by a handgun butt to the head, perpetrators on the run and a motive that is not so obvious. On the morning of Sunday November 24, 2024, this is the equation that the investigators of the judicial police (Maine-et-) were confronted with. The events took place a few hours earlier, during the night, on the Place de la Commune in the Bourny district of (Mayenne). Anass Frijy, 30, was killed by a stab wound to the abdomen. His twin brother suffered a head injury.

Complex investigation

While the flagrant investigation opened for aggravated murder and attempted aggravated murder had not reached its end – eight days renewable – the Laval public prosecutor's office asked the public prosecutor's office on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 to open an investigation judicial. In the prefectural town of Mayenne, there is only one investigating judge, and the investigating center which handles the most serious cases is in Le Mans.

This Monday, December 2, 2024, Carine Halley, the public prosecutor of this jurisdiction confirmed to Ouest- that she had opened a judicial investigation, without saying more. It is therefore now an investigating magistrate who is leading this complex investigation.
