L'teddy bearthe good big teddy bearthe teddy bear among the Anglo-Saxons will make its entry into Museum of Decorative Arts who dedicates this exhibition to him, My teddy bear. My teddy bear, from yesterday to today
From December 4, the teddy bear will take a getaway, out of children's rooms, to settle in the MAD windows. For this occasion, the institution is exhibiting some 130 teddy bears from its own collections.
These copies will allow us to add a little history to the lives of our teddy bears.
Do the bears of children who grew up in the 2000s look like those of children of the 50's? And besides, since when have these bears existed ? So many questions that the MAD will try to answer!
In addition to drawing up a historical panorama of the object itself, the exhibition also addresses the oldest representations of the bear as an animal. She will also look at the place of the teddy bear in society and popular culture ! Cinema, fashionchildren’s literature, contemporary art…. creations imagined by Annette Messager, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Issey Miyake or Jeremy Scott !
