The town of La Bâtie-Neuve, about ten kilometers from , was in the spotlight this Monday, December 2 thanks to the presence of François Hollande. The former President of the Republic (2012-2017) was invited by the mayor, Joël Bonnaffoux, and his municipal council for a ribbon cutting session.

No less than three recent achievements were inaugurated in the presence of Upper Alpine parliamentarians, deputies Marie-José Allemand and Valérie Rossi, both from the same party (PS) as the former president, and senator Jean-Michel Arnaud (Union centrist), as well as the vice-president of the Region, Chantal Eyméoud and prefect Dominique Dufour.

François Hollande's intervention was scrutinized by a large audience.

Regarding rurality, which he knows well in his capacity as deputy for Corrèze, he was rather optimistic, like “what you do here so that isolation is broken and solidarity is found. Wait until 2027

François Hollande has had his feet planted in politics for a long time and, even today, has become a deputy again. “I am not in favor of rushing the 2027 electoral deadline.

Concerning his return to the National Assembly, he said he returned “because there was a strong threat from the far right and a radicalism from the left that I do not find desirable. I have experienced heat strokes, but there is an impossibility of dialogue and action“.

On the motion of censure against the government that the former president would be ready to vote for, he says he wishes “formulate an opposition that can be respected and that its proposals are welcomed by the government, and not too late. It's difficult when you don't agree on a text not to challenge it. There is a rule, I do not agree with the text and I do not vote for it“.
