Fifty-three years have passed since this May 20, 1971but the memory remains intact.

That day, under the spring sky of Marcillé-Raoul (Ille-et-Vilaine)the club of Marcillé (FCM) distinguished itself during the tournament ofAscension by winning the Théo Clanchin challenge. A victory which marked the history of the club and the village.

The day before, Michel Boué, young local hopeful and brother of Alain Boué, member of the team, also made headlines by winning the departmental final of the young footballer's competition in Saint-Maloa performance which opened the doors to the regional final.

This double sporting news gave this week of May a special place in the annals of Marcillé-Raoul.

A reunion full of nostalgia

Tuesday November 26the 1971 FCM players decided to rekindle this memorable moment. Sporting brand new jerseys in the colors of the Stade Rennais (a nod to the year when the club won the French Cup), former teammates met up for a day out of time.

If the faces have changed and the years have passed, the camaraderie has remained intact.

Seeing this old photo again and seeing ourselves again today is a real journey back in time.

Bursts of laughter and shared memories enlivened the whole day, bringing everyone back to a time when amateur football was a base of conviviality and local pride.

The day ended with a meal at the restaurant, where match anecdotes and life stories mixed in a warm atmosphere.

Some mentioned the possibility of repeating this experience in a few years, with the same passion and perhaps even a new photo, just to continue writing this beautiful collective story.
