The general meeting of the Cave de Tain took place at the Charles Trenet space. Claude Laÿs, who presides over the destiny of the Cave with his management team, presented his moral report.
“A year 2024 which was long, tiring, tiring, stressful, exhausting, exhausting…” It is, however, a “promising vintage that we have in the cellar with beautiful color intensities as well as a nice balance between concentration, acidity and aromatic intensity”.
Increase in turnover
The president also returns to “the change of line which was a colossal challenge, because it was necessary to outsource the bottling and storage operations, without ever having to be out of stock”. Investments continued: modernization of the bottling line, extension of storage, computerized inventory management, etc. The 2024 harvest campaign in the Northern Rhône valley was marked by difficult weather conditions. Frequent rainfall which created significant challenges, particularly in terms of disease control, requiring increased vigilance on the part of winegrowers.
After waiting for optimal phenolic maturity, which proved to vary greatly from one plot to another, it was necessary to speed up the harvest process while managing interruptions caused by showers. This disrupted the organization of teams on the ground. “This vintage thus required great responsiveness and rigorous organization. The harvest began late, lasting from September 11 to October 7, with notable intensity on the receiving docks. Despite several days of rain, the winegrowers were able to adapt to changing conditions.”
It was then Ludovic Beau who presented the financial report with figures confirming the performance of the cellar. The turnover for this financial year amounts to 35 million euros (+ 5.24%). The general director recalled the context with a “Geopolitical instability persists. The future remains uncertain.” The sales department has launched new directions. “Very clearly, we must aim for more sustained growth in exports, because that is where all future growth will come from.”
