A resident of Rochefort (Charente-Maritime) has been desperately searching for six of his parrots since October 20, 2024, reports France 3 New Aquitaine. This retiree, who breeds “pyrrhura molinae conures”, is used to letting his birds fly freely, outside the aviary. But a little over a month ago, his companions did not return.
“I always monitor them, but they stay within a 500 meter radius. When I whistle, they arrive, land on me who waits for them with seeds and return”explains Boris Pierre to Southwest. On October 20, one of his parrots did not return from his free flight. The next day, the amateur breeder released his family again to try to recover him, in vain. They all eventually disappeared.
A reward of €1,000
Today, he is left with only three birds out of the nine he owned. “As they are family animals, the ones that remain have changed since the others are no longer there”deplores the Rochefortais who promised a reward of €1,000 at the microphone of France 3.
